Verbier is ready to host the second ISMF World Cup of the 20/21 season

Jointly with the Swiss Local Organising Committee and the Swiss Alpine Club, the ISMF is glad to confirm the second leg of the 20/21 World Cup circuit to be held in three weeks in Verbier, Val de Bagnes, Switzerland. The event will be carried out in compliance with the ISMF Covid criteria.
The event programme will include a Vertical race on 29 January 2021 followed by a rest day and an Individual race on 31 January, except for cases of force majeure not depending on the International Federation.
Thomas Kähr, the ISMF’s President says: “After the successful launch of the World Cup in Italy, we are excited to present the next event to come as I will personally join the thrilling atmosphere of the races. Skimo has mastered the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic by introducing strict measures in compliance with the law of the hosting country. This lets us guarantee the safety of our athletes and the organisational participants. Hence, “Covid-19 free” is our motto!”

COVID-19 & Switzerland
The ISMF would like to inform that there are no special restrictions to enter the canton du Valais, Switzerland. Therefore, by current provisions, the Swiss government does not require the performance of any test. Consequently, the ISMF considers valid the conditions reported in the Appendix 2 of the ISMF Covid Guidelines, which has to be followed prior and during the event in question. In this regard, we take this opportunity to remind that:
- To enter the country of any ISMF Event everyone must take the antigen or RT-PCR test, whose result must be negative and has to be released no more than 72 hours:
- before the arrival in the concerned Country
or
- before the start of the first competition for the following people:
- LOC staff,
- People resident in the Event Country
- Foreign people already present in the Event Country since more extra days before the Event (for example for training)**.
The relevant negative result certificate must be carried along & presented with the duly filled & signed health questionnaire for accredited persons (Guidelines for COVID-19, annex 5, pag. 24) and given to the ISMF Coordinator for COVID-19 prevention* or the LOC Coordinator for COVID-19 at the arrival to the Event location.
- **Should people arrive in advance in the Event Country, they shall manage to organise themselves the test in order to present the negative certificate no more 72 hours before the start of the first competition.

The ISMF kindly reminds that each person participating in the event (athletes, coaches and staff) must do the test before the event in compliance with the first section of the Appendix 2.
