A Plenary Assembly in face-to-face modality for the ISMF that chooses Milan as host location

Lausanne/Mondovì, 25 June 2021 – After a very challenging Covid-19 year, the ISMF is planning to host the annual Plenary Assembly in person, in collaboration with the FISI, Federazione Italiana Sport Invernali. A workshop is also scheduled with the intention of resuming strong relationships with member national federations.

“It is with great pleasure that we would like to thank the FISI for agreeing to host the most fundamental meeting event of the international federation. Our esteemed colleagues are always very helpful and keen to support the ISMF, representing a priceless added value.” With these words begins Thomas Kähr, President of the ISMF, regarding the Plenary Assembly to be held at the end of September. The intention is really to re-propose an in-person version for this important meeting event that represents an important piece for the international federation.

24 September: Meeting of Council & Strategy Workshop
25 September: Plenary Assembly
26 September: Departure day

Workshop session before the PA day
In this regard, it was decided to include a workshop on the programme on Friday 24 September as an extension and continuation of the strategic discussion initiated in the extraordinary Plenary Assembly with the decisions on the ISMF’s vision, mission and core values. It will represent an opportunity of considerable depth to meet with the delegates of the national federations who will be present on this occasion and for an open and constructive dialogue. This workshop shall be open to everyone interested.

Plan B: online PA
The ISMF reserves the possibility to hold the meeting online in the event that the worldwide pandemic situation worse again. In this case further communications will be spread in due time to the concerned people.

Founded in 2007, the International Ski Mountaineering Federation ISMF is the global governing body for ski mountaineering competitions. Since 2016, the organization is officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee IOC.
