Born in Oviedo (north of Spain) a green and mountainous region, he developed a passion for mountain sports. He started to collaborate with FEDME in 2000 in environmental issues till be in 2021 the International Relations. He is an environmental Skyrunning Referee. From 2013 to 2021 He has been President of the UIAA Access Commission and member of the UIAA Management Co since 2021. Elected as member of the Compliance Office in October 2022.

He has become a SKIMO lover in 2004. His international career in transportation security consulting and training has receeded to the background and mountaineering sports organizational, regulatory and referee functions now largerly occupy his life. Maxim is a certified international ICAO AVSEC instructor and has a degree in sports law and marketing from MGIMO university.
