An Individual race and a Sprint race will take place in Le Dévoluy
Lausanne, 1st February 2019 – The 2019 ISMF World Cup has reached the third leg. After being in Austria and in Andorra, the ISMF World Cup makes a stopover in France in the Provençal ski resort of Superdévoluy where two competitions will be held: an Individual race and a Sprint race.
115 athletes from 15 different nations will be on the starting blocks. At their arrival the worldwide skimo élite was greeted by a copious snowfall. Without a doubt now in Superdévoluy there are a postcard landscape and lots of fresh snow to exploit but these beautiful elements mean an extraordinary maintenance for the Local Organising Committee. In order to guarantee the maximum safety for athletes and public, the insiders opted for the classic plan B that will lead the Individual race on Saturday 2nd February on to easier and less exposed slopes. The warm-up lap of this morning allowed the competitors to become familiar with the race track that will have a difference in height of 1700 metres spread out on three ascents and as many descents.
The Sprint race will take place on Sunday morning 3rd February and on this occasion the skimo athletes will give the public strong emotions.
After the stage of Le Dévoluy, in February the racers and the staff will also have to face the trip to China for the fourth World Cup event and later the highlight of the season: the ISMF World Championships in March in Villars-sur-Ollon (Switzerland). Also in March, on 23rd and 24th, another World Cup stage will be held in Disentis (Switzerland), before the finals in Madonna di Campiglio (Italy) from 3rd to 6th April.
