Lausanne, 31st December 2018
Dear ISMF Member Federations,
Athletes and coaches,
and ISMF Stakeholders,
As is tradition, I return to all the ISMF and Skimo stakeholders with my end of the year message, full of satisfaction for the activity of 2018 and of important news regarding the upcoming year.
The results of the concluding year are under the eyes of everybody, so I simply want to thank all ISMF family, staff, partners and friends for helping to keep us on our path to an ever-higher level of ski mountaineering competition and to the Olympics, of course!
What about the 2019 season?
The coming season will see a World Cup with six events in Austria, Andorra, France, China, Switzerland and Italy – a guarantee of a real international circuit – a World Championship in Villars, the same location of the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games; a major visibility of our events in the social networks and televisions; more investments for the sustainability of our events and for youngsters; the projects for organising masters and long distance World Championships to recover all categories and disciplines under the ISMF umbrella.
Meanwhile, I would like to remind that the next Plenary Assembly will be held in Turkey next year, generously hosted by the Turkish Mountaineering Federation.
On behalf of my team at the ISMF, I offer you our full support and commitment and I hope all of you get to spend quality time with your family and loved ones during these holidays.
I wish you all health and success for 2019!
