Third ISMF World Cup event in Flaine, Arâches-la-Frasse, France is confirmed

Media Information

Following the withdrawal of Courchevel, the French member federation of the ISMF – the Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l’Escalade (FFME) – managed to find another location to recover the competitions. Three weeks before the event, Flaine, in Arâches-la-Frasse, is ready to welcome the ski mountaineering community for a World Cup event with an Individual race on Friday 5 and a Sprint race on Saturday 6 February 2021.

The ISMF General & Event Manager Roberto Cavallo is proud to announce: “We really wanted to complete our calendar and, despite the challenges this season, we have worked hard in close collaboration with the FFME and the Flaine organisers to make this possible. There is something exciting in the air: nowadays the world looks like frozen, where any action in any direction seems to be vain and impossible to do, however we have been able together with our partners to offer an international calendar full of important events, also including the World Championships in March in Andorra”.

The ISMF reminds that the event will be carried out in compliance with the ISMF Covid criteria. Full information will be released soon on the ISMF website.

The accommodation will be at the UCPA Centre Les Lindars (Flaine Forum, 74300 Arâches-la-Frasse, France – website). The UCPA Centre (350 beds) will host only ISMF World Cup teams. It will be possible to be accommodated at the UCPA Centre from Sunday 31 January 2021 (evening).

As regards the meals, it will be necessary to follow a precise Covid protocol, which will require that meals will be taken at specific times and respecting the places that will be assigned to everyone to avoid participants from mixing.
